Doctor Who is coming to Cardiff as part of live monster tour

GHASTLY: The Judoon are among the creatures expected to be part of Doctor Who Live

Doctor Who fans are in for a treat as the hit TV show is shapeshifting into a monster live stage show.

Doctor Who Live is based on the award winning series that is filmed right here in the city and will deliver the high-spec special effects the BBC programme has become accustomed to.

It has been developed in association with Doctor Who’s Executive Producer, Steven Moffat, and you can be part of the Time Lord’s adventure when the Tardis reaches the CIA in October.

Steven Moffat said: “This is everything I ever wanted since I was eleven; a live show, with all the coolest Doctor Who monsters, a proper story, and brand new screen material for Matt Smith’s Doctor”.

“I’ll be writing scenes for it, and probably attending every single night”, he added

It will open in wartime London and in true Doctor Who style, the audience should expect the unexpected whilst being immersed in a realm of optical illusions and spectacular pyrotechnics.

The Doctor and his sidekick (neither of whom will be played by the same actors as the TV series) will be in Cardiff on October 28, 29, 30 and 31.

The Daleks will be there to “exterminate”, along with other favourites, including the Cybermen, Weeping Angels, Judoon and Oods.

Specially filmed new video scenes will be shown during the performance, accompanied by music from the TV series’ composer, Murray Gold, and a live 16 piece orchestra.

Murray Gold reveals he is excited by the live element as it “always adds something extra.

“These will also be brand new arrangements for a new band of very talented musicians,” he added.

Doctor Who Live will cover nine cities and 25 dates and kicks off in London at Wembley Arena on 8th October.

Tickets go on sale this Friday at 9am and are priced from £25.00.
