Shared snapshots for 4am Project

What were you doing at 4am this morning?

I’d place a wager that the majority of you were catching some zzzs and making the most of the bank holiday lie-in this morning promised.

The same can’t be said for some enthusiastic snappers amongst us who were out photographing their scenery at 4am, to secure their place in the 4am Project.

As part of the collaborative event, people from across the world captured their world at that precise time and the images were uploaded to the same photo stream to paint a global picture.

The 4am Project is the result of Karen Strunks’ extremely creative vision to capture what goes on at this hour as it’s one usually reserved for parents of a newborn baby, security guards or seasoned revelers.

The idea came over a year ago following a night out in Birmingham- the city Karen lives in.

She tells on her website: “I was driving from one side of the city to the other. It was around 4am and I was really struck by the cityscape.

“Streets and roads normally teeming with people and traffic were deserted. The city was asleep and it felt like I had it all to myself,” She added.

Alas! The creative seeds were sown and blooming now in the form of the 4am Project.

Just incase your alarm clock failed to ring, you hit the snooze button until 4am had passed or threw the clock to the other side of the room and turned over, pictures from the time you missed can be seen at the following link:
