Planned chaos for Friday’s match

Concerns are growing that rugby fans will be left stranded in Cardiff after Friday’s Six Nations match against France.

Arriva Trains Wales, one of South Wales’ largest transport firms is said to have expressed its fears that the night trains will not be able to cope with the giant influx of sports fans that a match that finishes at 10pm would create.

The queue system that is normally in operation when the city hosts large concerts and sporting events will be out into action, Rebecca Fjelle, spokeswoman for Arriva Trains Wales ,has confirmed.

Although she also added: “If we can’t get everyone on the trains we will have to tell people they cannot travel. That’s the point we have been trying to raise all along.”

@Tweet_Cardiff is aware that passengers who have been unable to catch their train on Friday night. Will be able to use their ticket on Saturday (27th).

Hotels are normally nearly full on the weekend so make sure you have travel or accommodation pre-arranged.
