Maths student equals boxing champ

A cardiff maths whizz has sum-thing incredible to offer the Welsh sporting world after fighting his way to the European light heavyweight title on the weekend.

Nathan Cleverly, a 22-year-old student from Cardiff University remarkably only boxes in his spare time and sees the sport as his hobby, despite already having British and Commonwealth titles under his belt.

He told the Daily Mirror: “I’m still a student and I’m not taking the sport seriously yet. It’s just a hobby at the moment and I’m having fun.”

The undefeated Welsh champ plans to focus on the sport when he completes his maths degree this Summer.
